Making A Difference In The Desert!
We are a church who, by the grace of
God, "prepares," "declares," "shares" and cares." May Risen Savior be a church that
"dares" to be "different" for the sake of the Lord Jesus.
I submit that we do these things because we are a group who
"dares"!
In II Corinthians 11:21, 30, St. Paul writes that he "dares to
boast," but then qualifies this:
"If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my
weakness," (v.30).
God is his strength and, in I Corinthians 1:31, he writes that
he will "boast in the Lord."
What about our boasting... and our daring? We boast of the power
and mercy,
the love and care of Jesus Christ. We boast that He has made us
who and what we are.
The activities and ministries that are on these web pages
reflect the great things God does in and through us.
With changes and new directions within our church family, God
has been the steady, constant "strength" for us through His
abiding presence and the Means of Grace. We study and grow in
the Word,
and we celebrate the Sacraments -- we are a blessed people! In
His Name, we dare to try new ministries, new approaches and new
possibilities as we love and serve Him and the fellow person.
The Greek word for dare means to be brave and have courage. In
Jesus Christ, and by His Spirit, we are strong and confident,
with courage to do what God calls us to do.
